Privacy Policy

The short version

SlimDoc is a private, in-browser document editor. Your documents are created and processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly use the sharing feature. We collect as little data as possible.

What we don't collect

  • Your documents, templates, or data sources (these never leave your browser)
  • Files you export as PDF
  • Tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers

What we collect

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It collects no personal data and does not track you across sites. We see aggregate page views and referrer data — nothing that identifies you.

Account data (if you sign up)

If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and authentication provider (Google, GitHub, or email/password). This data is stored in our database hosted on Cloudflare and is used solely to authenticate you and provide account-based features.

Shared documents

When you share a document, a read-only HTML copy is stored on our servers and accessible via a public link. Free shares are automatically deleted after 7 days. Pro shares are retained for up to 1 year. You can delete a shared document at any time.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Paddle, who acts as our Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. Paddle handles all payment data subject to their own Privacy Policy. We receive your subscription status and Paddle customer ID to manage your plan.

How we use your data

  • To authenticate you and provide account features
  • To manage your subscription status
  • To host shared documents you explicitly publish
  • To understand aggregate usage of the site (via Plausible)

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data storage and security

Account and shared document data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We follow reasonable security practices to protect your data.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access your data — email us and we'll provide what we store
  • Delete your account and all associated data — email us at office@slimdoc.app
  • Export your documents at any time (they're already on your device)

Children

SlimDoc is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
